It found that the sense of coherence is a relatively stable "world view," but that it can be altered in response to stress or traumatic events.

Antonovsky described it as something that develops and grows through experience, and in terms of general psychological theory about personality development, that makes perfect sense.

So the answers are: no, probably not given at birth; yes, basically enduring and stable in the manner of a trait; and yes, responsive to events in the manner of a "state" of being.

Send me an email about your interests. If the school is aware of her treatment than it is their failure to keep her safe by removing the offender PERMANENTLY. She needs to have someone stand up for her and it doesn't seem like the school is going to do that. I suggest having your daughter carry around a tape recorder. This child told her at the start of school this year she was going to be her pickker for the year and has made good to her word. This child has servered many in school suspensions and it dosn't matter she says cause I will be back in a day or to and what is tell on me going to get you nothing!! This is the words from a child the school has made many exception for her and I to felt bad for her and what might have made her so mean.Untill last week when another attack got my daughters wrist hurt. Now I am trying to file crimal charges on this and it seems to be very unfair for daughter to have to live like this every day. This child that attacks my daughter also is open inrolled in our school. What more is it going to take to keep her mentaly and physicaly saft than to remover her open inrollment or I have to move my children to another school.
