unforunately , I had Markovic was a professor and appeared misogynistic. cici is a wonderful person and I benefited from her advice. This was over 20 years ago and I am saddened to hear that he was still being "himself" and I only hope for the best. Luckily the real world isn't as crazy as he is. I am so sorry your family had to go through all of this. I was a student at Sac State but they have a completely broken and inept "judicial" system so I moved on.

It doesn't surprise me that Peter Lau malingered on this investigation. He was a waste of oxygen. I'm not sure if he ever had a passion for his job, but he was definately on autopilot and unwilling to pursue matters unless he was absolutely pinned down. I sought his help once with no results. Just the fact that there's someone sitting on CA govt payroll like this doing absolutely nothing still irritates me.

It's truly shameful what tenured professors can get away with at this college. When I was in the military this stuff would never fly.

Just based on what I've seen at the college, they will stonewall you as long as possible. Best of luck to you. I truly hope you perservere and bring this matter to broad public attention.

All strength to your wife in her search for legal redress from the university. The administration has behaved disgracefully in both its shabby treatment of her and its ineffectual handling of the complaints against Markovic.

I would go as far as to say that, by neglecting the many grievances drawn to its attention about him, the administration has become by default complicit in such harm to students and faculty as he may have caused.

The administration's treatment of your wife can best be characterized as a case of blaming the victim AND blaming the whistleblower.

A few bfore reading your article, I read the complete Inspector General's Report on the Corrections Department's blatant mistakes and omissions in the supervision and handling of Phillip Garrido.

There is a remarkable similarity between the accounts--both chronicling mistakes in judgement, lack of leadership, defensiveness, and administrative incompetence.

The difference between your wife's story and that of Garrido is that she is taking action BEFORE the henious crime takes place. Hopefully the courts are able to see the whole picture as you have presented it and its true impact (and potential impact)on the victims.

I want to thank and honor your wife for her courage and for the personal sacrifices she has made to expose and confront the evils of the human heart.

IF ONLY someone had had that courage and conscience during the recent gang rape of the CA high school girl . . .

One further thought, though: when 'good' people do nothing in the face of such obvious problems, ignore blatantly abusive behavior, and then retaliate forcefully [and abusively] against those who DO attempt to constrain it, they're not good people.

What a menace. And what a blind, negligent administration. What is the saying, "evil prevails when good men do nothing?" Regarding the sexual discrimination, I am recounted examples of this repeatedly and it's maddening. I hope your wife has her day in court and the facts are decided in her favor.
